In most instances, a Golden Tee round of -30 is THE story. Not here, though. Not this round.
Sure, Missouri pro Evan Gossett hit a ridiculous -30 on Cape Haven. This alone is worthy of a solid golf clap, a beer, and a first-place win in a Prize Play contest. In this particular round, however, Evan shattered a Golden Tee LIVE record that will be tough to topple going forward.
190,704 Great Shot Points… in one round.
No need to adjust your screens or double-check to see where we might have misplaced a comma or a number. In total, Evan earned Great Shot Points on 11 of 18 holes. He hit a double eagle on Hole 4 and holed out on Holes 6, 10 and 11.
His record breaks the previous total on Golden Tee LIVE, which was an unthinkable 176,901.
Don’t believe us? Well, we’ve got the hole-by-hole data to prove it.
For the record, I’m THRILLED when my Great Shot Point total eclipses 40k. A 100k round is considered a milestone round, and not many have hit this number. Trying to envision a round that almost doubles the unthinkable is, well, unthinkable.
Congrats on a fantastic game, Evan.
