  • Golden Tee Golf for iOS and Android Frequently Asked Questions
  • Why is my game crashing and/or freezing?
    • There may be various reasons for frequent game crashes or freezes (lock ups). See if any items below will help you resolve the issue:
      1. Fully close and reopen the app.
      2. Make sure your device’s operating system is up to date.
      3. Check if you’re running the latest version of Golden Tee Golf. This should have been done automatically for you at the launch of the game, but you can also do it manually:
        1. iOS: Open the App Store, then tap “Updates” and see if Golden Tee Golf is on the list with an [Update] button next to it. If so, update it before relaunching.
        2. Android: Open the Play Store, and then tap the 3-line icon in the top left corner to bring up your account settings. Select “My apps & games” followed by the “Updates” tab. Check if Golden Tee Golf is on the list with an [Update] button next to it. If so, update it before relaunching.
      4. Free up device memory by closing apps running in the background.
      5. Check if the game is supported on your device:

  • Something went wrong with my purchase. Why?
    • There are various reasons why your purchase may not have gone through:
      1. First, make sure your device is connected to the internet.
      2. iOS purchase error: The payment may be still processing. Try relaunching the app and see if it goes through. If you do not receive your items within 24 hours, please contact iTunes support at https://support.apple.com/itunes.
      3. Android/Google Play purchase error: The payment may be still processing. Try relaunching the app and see if it goes through. If you do not receive items within 24 hours please contact us so that we may assist you. If possible, please include your Google order number. Note that you may also check if the payment went through in your Google Wallet (https://payments.google.com/).
      4. If you still did not receive your items, please contact us for further assistance.
  • Can I change my nickname?
    • Yep! Your nickname is chosen at the start of the game and is a critical part of your identity. If the name doesn’t really fit the golfer persona you’re going for, you can always change it in the Options by selecting the ACCOUNT option and tapping the EDIT NICKNAME button. Keep in mind that each subsequent change to it will cost a few Gold Bars. You’ll see the change take place within a few minutes after confirming your new nickname.
  • I can’t change my nickname! It keeps getting rejected! Why?
    • Your nickname may be rejected if it breaks our Nickname Policy. Please review the key points below. Keep it clean and keep it fun! You may be the next Golden Tee champion, and the way you present yourself deserves a couple minutes of consideration. Before you decide on a new name, here are a few niggling little guidelines:
      1. Characters are limited from 4-15
      2. Numbers and some special characters are supported
      3. Mixed capitals and spaces are supported
      4. Sequences of 4 or more of the same consecutive character are not allowed
        Note: Numbers are the exception here! Keep your Lucky 7s!
      5. Accented characters (À, à, etc.) are not supported
      6. Emoji are not supported
      7. Inappropriate words and combinations that result in cursing, racial slurs, sexist remarks and other generally uncool behavior are not allowed
  • My nickname has been changed! Why?
    • There may be a couple of reasons for this:
      1. If you don’t choose a nickname at the start of the game we’ll assign a generic name to you. We’re not very creative at naming golfers, so feel free to change this from the Options by selecting the ACCOUNT option and tapping the EDIT NICKNAME button.

        NOTE: Once you change your nickname, each subsequent change will cost a few Gold Bars. So think it over for a few minutes before making the change!
      2. If you have chosen a nickname that has been found in violation of our Nickname Policy, your nickname will be changed to something most likely less exciting and inventive than you’d create yourself. You may change your name to something else on the Player Profile screen by tapping on the pencil icon next to your name.

        NOTE: Once you change your nickname, each subsequent change will cost a few Gold Bars. So think it over for a few minutes before making the change!

      3. If you have chosen a nickname that has been found in violation of Nickname Policy multiple times, your nickname will be changed permanently.

        NOTE: If you believe your name has been changed by mistake, please contact Customer Service.
  • Am I required to verify my IT account email?
    • No, you are not required to verify your email.
      1. Your email is used only to log in if you’ve reinstalled the app or want to play on a new device. If the email provided is not in use, you may contact us with any issues.
      2. Please note that an unverified email may be very difficult to confirm as yours. We strongly advise that you verify it in case you ever lose your login information and/or switch to a new device.
  • Can I change the email associated with my IT account?
    • No, you may not change the email associated with your IT account via the app.

      Your email is only used for you to log in if you’ve reinstalled the app or want to play on a new device.

      However, if there is an error in the email provided or your provider has changed please contact customer service.

  • Can I change my password?
    • Yes, you may change your Golden Tee Account password.

      You may change your password in the Options by selecting the ACCOUNT option and tapping the EDIT PASSWORD button.
  • I contacted Customer Service with an issue. How do I know it has been looked into?
    • We take all issues and feedback seriously. All issues are being addressed in the order they were submitted. Please take note of a few items below:
      1. Once our Customer Service team replies we will send a notification to the game in the For You message box (open by tapping on the “bullhorn” icon on the top bar while in the main menu).
        Note: You do not need to have Push Notifications enabled to receive correspondence with us.
      2. If you provided us with an email address, any correspondence will also appear in your email inbox.
      3. Email correspondence is required for any issues submitted outside of the game.
  • When is a Contest going to finish?
    • Contests finish once all participating players complete their rounds; each player has 24 hours from the moment they join to complete. If all players complete their game quickly, a contest may conclude within minutes.

      TIP: You will receive a notification when a Contest is closed and final rankings shown. This can be found in the Contests message box (open by tapping on the “bullhorn” icon on the top bar while in the main menu). You may also review your active and past Contests from the [History] found in the Contest game mode menu.

  • I won a Contest! How do I collect my winnings?
    • All winnings (including consolation prizes) are automatically distributed to all players at the time the Contest closes.

      TIP: You will receive a notification when a Contest is closed and final rankings shown. This can be found in the Contests message box (open by tapping on the “bullhorn” icon on the top bar while in the main menu). You may also review your active and past Contests from the [History] found in the Contest game mode menu.

  • Can I play more than one Contest?
    • You may enter only one Contest at a time. You have to finish or forfeit a Contest before joining a new one.
  • I qualified to be in the top ten on the World Leaderboard but my name shows up below everyone else, even players I’ve beaten! Why is that?
    • The World Leaderboard updates every few minutes. Check back in a little bit.

      TIP: All spots are up for grabs until a season ends!
