Golden Tee Golf for Apple and Android devices launched in the United States on October 28th. Download it now on Apple and Android!
This is a game changer. There is no other way to put it. It’s going to change the way you play Golden Tee and your entire approach. It’s something we’ve been anxious to share with you for some time, and we’re close enough—more on that in a bit—that these exciting new additions need to be explained.
So, let’s get to explaining, then.
The GT Caddy—Golden Tee’s mobile app, available on the Google and Apple stores—most recently released an update that allows players the opportunity, among other additions, to add money to their player account. Many of you are aware of this because many of you have already done it.
This addition was made with a few reasons in mind. For starters, having player account money is good. It makes signing into a game quicker and easier. It’s a status thing, too, whether or not we’re willing to admit it. (Don’t worry, we understand.)
More significantly, however, this addition was made as part of a much grander plan, one that will stretch into the following plus also some more exciting things still to come. We’ll get to those in time, but here’s what’s happening next.
Soon you will be able to purchase equipment—any club or ball ever created in Golden Tee LIVE—from your GT Caddy. The addition of the Pro Shop is coming to the GT Caddy and it will allow you to tweak your club/ball configuration whenever you please.
Want the Howitzer club set for Desert Valley? (And many of you do, clearly.) It will now be just a few screen presses away. Want to purchase 999 Grabbers? That’s right, 999.
You’ll be able to do just that. The 100 cap will be lifted for the app, which means you’ll be able to go on a shopping spree if you so desire. And Golden Tees? Yes, the Pro Shop will also carry these. Of course it will.
Once you’ve got your equipment figured out, you’ll be able to move to the look of your golfer. For those of you who were around when the old Goldentee.com was still in place, you’ll likely recall the Dress Your Golfer function.
Well, Dress Your Golfer returns as the Player Locker on the Caddy—your own personal virtual closet. All of the items you currently own will be accessible here. Dress your golfer just the way you like him or her and then watch your outfit show up the next time you play.
Oh, but that’s not all. If you’ve really wanted a clothing item that you simply haven’t been able to unlock, you can now change that away from the game.
All items in the store will now be available for purchase. Most items will cost a quarter; some will be $.50. You can still unlock these just like always, or you can choose not to wait. And moving forward, there will be a handful of exclusive items that will only be available in the app. We’ll talk more about that as 2016 approaches.
For now, get ready. The latest installment of the GT Caddy has gone through testing and is currently in an abbreviated beta. The hope is that it will be submitted to Apple and Google in less than a week, which means you will have your hands on it soon.
