Orlando, Here We Come
The Florida Open Kicks off the 2013 Golden Tee Tournament Season This Weekend

Golden Tee’s tournament season gets underway this weekend with the Florida Open, the first of six PEGT Tour events in 2013. And while it’s last-minute, there’s still plenty of time to soak up the sun as well as a weekend jam-packed with GT.

Backstage Billiards in Orlando will play host to the event, which actually kicks off on Thursday night with a Closest-to-the-Pin contest. On Friday evening, a handicap tournament will take place, leveling the playing field.

The actual tournament will then get underway with a five-course qualifier Saturday morning. Once each participant has played all 2013 courses once, the top 32 players will then meet up in a double-elimination match play tournament.

These matches will conclude Sunday evening, and the first tournament champion of the year will be crowned.

We’ll be heading down to Orlando to both cover and play in the event, and we hope to see you all there. Power Events knows how to put on a wonderful weekend of Tee, and a little warm weather won’t hurt, either.

Although the event is closing in, there’s still time to sign up (or simply walk up the day of) if you want to play. If you’re simply interested in watching some of the game’s best duke it out, by all means, stop on by and have a beer or two.

If you can't make it, we've got you covered as well. Matches will be stream live on PEGTtour.com, and you'll be able to stay caught up with all the happenings.

For more details on the tournament, visit the official Florida Open thread on Underdogsports.net or Power Events’ official website.

We'll have more on the coverage later this week, and we hope to see you all in Orlando!
