The second stop of the National Golden Tee Tour and arguably the fan favorite took place in Sussex, Wisconsin this past weekend! The tournament brought together some of the biggest names in Golden Tee alongside rising stars eager to make their mark. With over 120 players competing, the Wisconsin Open continues to be one of the longest-running and most memorable stops on the National Golden Tee Tour.

Andy Fox delivered a standout performance in qualifying, locking in the top spot with a total score of -149 and 206,403 Great Shot Points across the five-course qualifier. Fox posted two -29s, two -30s, and a -31 on Palmetto Coast. Other qualifiers had their moments to shine as well, including Matt Miller's massive -33 on Palmetto Coast, Ken Calus firing a -32 on Lexington Stables, and Harry Lomason racking up an impressive 227,308 Great Shot Points. Even with Pine Coast included as a qualifier course, players kept the scores low and the competition high.

In the Main bracket, fans witnessed a Cinderella story unfold as Derek Trumbley made a remarkable run. Trumbley, who entered the Main bracket as the 25th seed, had to navigate a tough path to the finals. He took down Golden Tee heavyweights like Ken Calus, Jason Elliot, Bryce Aubert, and Jeff Lannen to become King of the Hill. His incredible streak proved that determination and skill can outshine rankings.
Jeff Lannen, however, refused to be denied twice. After losing to Trumbley in the King of the Hill match, Lannen battled back with victories over CJ Wengler, Mike Arrington, and 2024 World Champion Mark Gomez. Lannen's resilience earned him a finals rematch with Trumbley, where he delivered back-to-back wins with scores of -29 to -25 and -30 to -28 to claim the Wisconsin Open title!
Main bracket top 4:
- 1st. Jeff Lannen
- 2nd. Derek Trumbley
- 3rd. Evan Gossett
- 4th. Bryce Aubert
The Purple Bracket finals featured an all-Wisconsin showdown between Kirk Stimpert and Jason Reeder. Stimpert showcased his dominance throughout the bracket, remaining undefeated and winning the King of the Hill. He closed out his perfect weekend with a -28 to -27 victory in the finals to punch his ticket to the 2026 Golden Tee World Championship.

The Pink Bracket had its own story of endurance and determination. Much like Stimpert, John Hellstein refused to lose, storming through the bracket undefeated. After beating Neil Seichepine in the King of the Hill match, Hellstein faced Seichepine again in the finals. The two battled into overtime, where Hellstein claimed victory and the Pink Bracket crown.
Pink bracket top 4:
- 1st. John Hellstein
- 2nd. Neil Seichepine
- 3rd. Travis Tressler

A standout performance came from Bryce Aubart, whose remarkable run further cemented his reputation as the rising star in the Golden Tee scene. After finishing 13th in qualifying, Aubart went on to defeat two-time World Champion Andy Haas twice and bested World Champion Evan Gossett. Although Gossett ultimately eliminated him in a later match, Aubart's 4th-place finish proved he's a force to be reckoned with.

The Wisconsin Open once again reminded us why Golden Tee's tournaments are so special! Thanks to the incredible efforts of Paige Gossett, Russ Layton, and Steve Sobel from Power Events, the weekend was flawlessly run. And a huge shoutout to Sussex Bowl for providing a welcoming venue with outstanding staff that elevated the entire event experience.
