There are certain stops on the Golden Tee tournament circuit that mean a little bit more than the others. Everyone has their favorite venues, but no tournament has been built more towards the player over the past decade than the NIV (Not in Vegas) in Richmond, Virginia.
The NIV, however, is much more than just a Golden Tee tournament. It’s a gathering, where fans of the game will celebrate the launch of Golden Tee 2013, free beer and a pig roast.
The NIV X (yep, there’s been 10 of ‘em) will take place at the familiar Baja Bean on October 4th through October 7th. This is the second year in a row that the NIV has teamed up with Power Events, and this tourney has become an integral part of the 2012 PEGT Tour.
Golden Tee 2013 will have been out for only a few days and some of the world’s best will tee it up right out of the gate on the update.

The weekend kicks off on Thursday night with a Closest-to-the-Pin contest. Entry into this event is only $10. On Friday night, the match play handicap contest will take place and the entry into this event is $25. There will also be free draft beer (SOLD) from 6 PM until close.
The actual tournament will begin on Saturday with a 5-course qualifier. If you’re looking for tips on how to play the new courses, this would be the time and place to get them. The top 32 players in the qualifier will then move into the main bracket, which will be double-elimination and concluded on Sunday.
The entry fee for the main tournament is $125, but you’ll get much, much more than access to an outstanding event. Included in this is the free draft beer on Friday, free lunch on Saturday and Sunday, a pig roast, a free t-shirt, entry into a poker tournament (with prizes) that will take place on Saturday night, door prizes and more.
Seriously, this is the tournament you want to attend. We can’t praise the job that NIV mastermind Jefe Alums has done over the years, and you know Power Events always hosts one hell of a show. This is Golden Tee’s ultimate combo.
