The 2025 Missouri Open is approaching, and Golden Tee players will gather just outside of St. Louis for a of creating new Golden Tee moments. Hosted at Funny Bone from May 1st to May 4th, this event delivers top-tier gameplay and another shot at a 2026 Golden Tee World Championship pass.
The second stop of the National Golden Tee Tour, the Wisconsin Open, took place in Sussex, Wisconsin in March, where over 120 players competed for the top spots. In the Main bracket, Jeff Lannen emerged as the champion, overcoming a strong challenge from Derek Trumbley’s highest recorded finish at a National Golden Tee Tour event. Trumbley made an impressive run from the 25th seed, defeating several top players to reach the finals. Other notable brackets included the Purple Bracket, where Kirk Stimpert claimed first place, and the Pink Bracket, John Hellstein triumphed after an intense victory. The tournament highlighted both seasoned competitors and rising stars, making it the memorable event that Wisconsin always puts together!
Whether you’re a seasoned player or new to the game, the Missouri Open offers something for both and everyone in between. The weekend will feature a series of tournaments, each offering its own unique challenges and opportunities. Here’s everything you need to know about the event!
Thursday, May 1st: Closest to the Pin (CTTP) Heads Up
The tournament kicks off on Thursday evening at 7:30 PM with the Closest to the Pin Heads Up competition. For a $20 entry fee, players will square off in a head-to-head challenge to see who can hit shots closest to the pin.
Friday, May 2nd: Handicap Tournament Match Play
On Friday, May 2nd, the competition heats up at 7:30 PM with the Handicap Tournament Match Play event. This single-elimination tournament is based on each player’s Golden Tee handicap, ensuring that every competitor has a fair shot at victory.
Saturday, May 3rd: Main Event & Player Auction
The spotlight is always on the Main Event starting at 11:00 AM on Saturday, May 3rd, with a $20,000+ prize pool up for grabs. The tournament begins with a 5-course qualifier that will take place, where players will be randomly assigned five courses out of eight available. Other prizes include Golden Tee Gift Cards, with $50 awarded to the highest qualifier on each course and the overall top qualifier.
The top 32 players with the best combined scores from all five courses will advance to the Main Bracket on Sunday. Every other player in the qualifier will have the chance to advance to the Purple Bracket, Pink Bracket, and potentially the Copper Bracket.
Saturday, May 3rd: Blind Draw Doubles
Later that evening, at 7:30 PM, the action will switch gears with the Blind Draw Doubles tournament. For a $20 entry fee per player, competitors will be randomly paired based on their qualifying performance and played on Classic Courses.
Sunday, May 4th: Main Event Bracket Play & Finals
On Sunday, the competition heats up on Sunday, May 4th with bracket play beginning at 11:00 AM for Purple and Pink brackets. The Main bracket consisting of the best 32 qualified players will begin at 12:00 PM. Players will square off in intense double-elimination match play on the main stage. Where the top 32 players will battle it out for the title and their share of the huge prize pool.
The Purple Bracket will also have its moment in the spotlight. The Purple Bracket winner will receive a pass to the 2026 Golden Tee World Championship, making it an important bracket to fight through to the end.
