One of the Golden Tee’s grandest celebrations of the year is nearly here, and the Missouri Open will soon be the epicenter of our favorite game.
Redbirds Sports Cafe & Billiards in Hazelwood will play host to the event once again, and Power Events is already anticipating perhaps the biggest tournament fields of the year. This is the second PEGT Tour event in 2013.
The tourney will kick off Thursday, April 18 and run through Sunday, April 21.
If you’ve been looking to attend your first tournament—or simply pinpointing the next—this is where you want to be.
On Thursday evening, those who flew in early (and more extra Golden Tee, why wouldn’t you?) will be treated to a Closest-to-the-Pin contest. Then on Friday night, the Handicap Tournament will be played. With a level playing field and a chance to win entry into the main event, this has become one of the weekend’s most popular moments.
The weekend’s main event will then get underway on Saturday morning with a five-course qualifier. Entry is $100. The top 32 qualifiers will move into the main bracket, while everyone else will be placed into the purple bracket. On Sunday, match play will begin and a champion will be crowned later that day.
You can reserve your spot in this year’s event on Power Events’ website, or get more details on what to expect come tournament time. Walk-ups are also welcome.
Can’t make the weekend? Power Events has you covered here as well. They will be streaming live tournament action, which we will have posted on our site once the time comes.
It should be a magnificent weekend, and it is closing in fast. You do not want to miss it.
