Running Through the Wall on the Royal Cove 18th

If the wind is blowing right to left, the Royal Cove 18th can be one of the toughest holes in 2012. A 3-wood with a low tee, a hybrid, a different fairway wood with plenty of cut are all worthy clubs and tactics to take on a hole that could be tough to even lay-up on.

There is another way, however, although you might have to take a leap of faith to make it work.

Despite what the shot below might look like, there was plenty of intent here that stretches beyond “I’m gonna hit the $%^% out of this and hope it turns out well!” Well, there’s a little bit of that, too, but that was in fact the strategy.

Don’t try this at home Give this a try if you’re out of options and looking to try something new on what could be a tough look. Just don’t blame us if it doesn’t work out. YOU’VE BEEN WARNED.
