Skipping the ball off the water on the Pelican Grove 15th is nothing new. As miraculous as the shot remains, we’ve seen it done a handful of times and will likely see it done at least a few more times before it’s all said and done.
The typical shot is both simple and complex: a low tee, a 2-hybrid an A-1-type shot and, well, hope is all you need. This, up until now, was the only way to skip a ball off the water and make it to the green.
Then this happened.
What’s most ridiculous about this shot is that it bends most assumed Golden Tee physics. Straight shots and skips don’t typically get along very well—you know this from a long list of attempted tries. Not here, though.
While most of the shots featured here are a) lucky b) incredibly skillful or c) a bit of both, this one you can try. As we all try and process how this happened, however, I feel obligated to pass along the following disclaimer.
(Do so with caution.)
