We Haven’t Seen an Ace on Ancient Ruins Yet, but We’re Getting Awfully Close

Hole 11 on Coconut Beach is one you know by now, and it’s one we’ve talked about for quite some time.

The Ancient Ruins—this year’s Design-a-Hole winner—found its home on the back nine of Coconut and has plenty of character. Although it is a par-5, this hole can be reached in one if the conditions and setup are right.

We’ve seen plenty of attempts at this green, and while there are no super albatrosses to speak of just yet, we’ve seen some attempts come oh so close.

Take this one for example, and for a moment it seemed like this ball was going to drop. It was not to be, however, but this is the closest we have seen.

The more elaborate and dangerous attempt can also be seen below, and if you’re thinking about cutting the corner, you may do so. Be sure to do so at your own risk, though. This hole got its name for a reason.

When we will see a hole-in-one? Something tells me it won’t be long.

The blueprint is in place.
