The Fourth Annual Music City Madness Open, held from August 8th to 11th at TNT Billiards Bar and Grill in Antioch, Tennessee, lived up to its name, delivering a thrilling weekend of Golden Tee action. With over $40,000 in prizes awarded, the event attracted more than 200 attendees, including 156 players who competed in the Saturday 5 course qualifier and Championship Sunday bracket. This year's Music City Madness saw an impressive $40,000 in prizes distributed among the participants. The substantial prize pool is always a draw for the tournament, reflecting the growing popularity of the National Golden Tee Tour presented by Power Events and specifically the city of Nashville, Tennessee. With over 160 players taking part in at least one of the weekend's tournaments, the competition was fierce, and the rewards were well-deserved.

One of the standouts of the weekend was Matt VanHoosier’s victory in the Purple Bracket. His win earned him the purple bracket champion and also a greatly earned pass to the 2025 Golden Tee World Championship. VanHoosier’s performance was almost cut short by Connor Franta, who was the King of the Hill. VanHoosier had to battle his way through and beat Franta twice. Matt VanHoosier did just that in his 1 stroke victory on Missouri Hills in the first match and a perfect hole 18 shot on Cumberland to seal his 2025 Golden Tee World Championship ticket!

Mark Gomez, fresh off the largest World Championship prize win, continued to demonstrate his skill by placing 17th-24th in the Main Bracket. While he may not have reached the finals, his consistent performance in this competitive field showcased his talent and determination to remain among Golden Tee’s elite.

2024 Missouri Open Champ CJ Wengler

CJ Wengler, who captured his first National Golden Tee Tour win at the previous stop in St. Louis, continued his strong showing! Wengler took the top qualifier for Manhattan View by carding a -29 (a one better) with 82K Great Shot Points. It wasn’t a back-to-back National Golden Tee Tour win for him, although he finished 9th-12th in the Main Bracket. Wengler’s ascent in the competitive Golden Tee scene highlights his growing reputation as his self-proclaimed “most popular Golden Tee player in the World”  and a dire competitor on the national stage.

Mike Johnston (4th), Evan Gossett (3rd), Andy Haas (1st), Paul Luna (2nd)

Any Haas secured his third consecutive win at the Nashville tournament, solidifying his dominance at. This marks the second year in a row that the finals featured a showdown between Haas and his friendly but extremely competitive rival, Paul Luna. This ongoing rivalry was best shown in last year’s Music City Madness stop. If you missed one of the most exciting games of Golden Tee ever, watch it now!

The rivalry between Any Haas and Luna has defined the Nashville tournament since its inception, the two have competed in three of the four finals. The only other player to break into the main bracket finals at the Music City Madness is Evan Gossett who is the 2017 World Champion, and this year’s Music City Madness 3rd place winner! In 2024, Haas once again emerged victorious, showcasing his unmatched consistency and skill. His three-peat victory further cements his legacy as one of the most dominant players ever in the Golden Tee community.

A special acknowledgment has to be given to the staff of TNT Billiards Bar and Grill, who did a phenomenal job hosting the event. Their hospitality and attention to detail contributed an experience for all attendees. The venue’s atmosphere, combined with the staff’s professionalism, played a crucial role in making the Fourth Annual Music City Madness Open a memorable success.

A significant feature of this year’s tournaments has been the use of Score IT, which provides detailed stats and real-time tracking of gameplay throughout the event. This technology offers players a deeper insight into tournament stats. On top of that, we use this technology to giveaway prizes to the players who have the longest drive, longest put, most hole in ones, most sand saves, and who hits the most birdies or better throughout the entire 4 day long event.

The tournament boasted 156 players in the 5 course qualifier, with over 160 total participants across the weekend’s events. The strong turnout and the high level of competition are a testament to the growing enthusiasm for Golden Tee and the continued success of the National Golden Tee Tour presented by Power Events. With each passing year, the Music City Madness Open continues to establish itself as a premier event on the Golden Tee calendar, drawing in top talent and passionate fans from across the country.
