The National #GoldenTee Tour presented by Power Events is gearing up for its 15th season, and all eyes are on the Florida Open, which kicks off January 31 in St. Cloud, Florida. This event has seen incredible competition, with standout players like Andy Haas (three times), Paul Tayloe, Paul Luna (twice), Chris Brewer, Andy Fox (twice), Sean Gervais, Ryan McCook, David Duncan and Mark Stenmark (twice) claiming the title of Florida Open champion.
As the first stop on the tour, the Florida Open is more than just a tournament—it's the stage where many of the best players showcase their skills and set the tone for the season ahead.
"The Power Events team couldn't be more excited to kick off our 15th year of bringing live Golden Tee Tournaments nationwide" Steve Sobel exclaimed.
Paul Luna, fresh off his 2024 Player of the Year win, is a player to watch closely. His strong finish last year makes him a formidable contender as he looks to carry that momentum into 2025. With the spotlight on him, the question remains: can Luna extend his winning ways, or will another challenger rise to the occasion?
The Florida Open is also home to the only “Women Only” tournament, a unique and highly anticipated event on the tour. Jamie Arrington has made her mark here, winning the past two years and earning coveted passes to the Golden Tee World Championship each time. Her dominance in this tournament has cemented her as a key figure in the Golden Tee community.
Historically, the Florida Open has been the perfect start to the season. Whether it's the sunny weather or the competition, it often sets the stage for what's to come. In 2023, Paul Tayloe’s victory here propelled him to the World Championship title later that year.
In 2021, Paul Luna’s Florida Open win was followed by a dominating year that included three more tour championships.
Similarly, in 2024 Andy Haas would win the Florida Open and ride the wave of momentum. He would go on to claim a podium spot at almost every major tournament last year, winning the Nashville Open, the Carolina Clash and the Dallas Holiday Classic.
The 2025 Florida Open is shaping up to be an exciting event! With players having to adapt to the new tee boxes on 2025 courses and only a short window(two weeks) to prepare, it’s bound to test their skill and versatility. The addition of three re-teed classic Golden Tee courses-Pine Coast, Bear Lodge and Rocky Hollow-adds a fun and nostalgic twist, likely evoking memories of previous tournaments. A fresh challenge, with a sense of familiarity.
As the excitement builds, the big question is who will claim the Florida Open championship and establish themselves as the frontrunner for the 2025 National #GoldenTee Tour. Will it be a repeat winner, or will a new champion emerge to take the spotlight? Stay tuned as the Golden Tee season gets underway with this thrilling event.
