Mike Arrington: The Final Boss
We interviewed Carolina Clash purple champion Mike Arrington

Mike Arrington's journey in the Golden Tee community began in 2003 when he received a $25 “bronze check” in the mail, sparking his passion for the game. He initially aimed to qualify for the East Vs West Washington state tournament, and to his surprise, his wife Jamie won a spot before he did during a Closest To The Pin qualifier.

Mike's first live tournament at the 2004 East Vs West Washington event left him hooked, leading him to pursue larger competitions like NiV 6, where Jamie was also by his side.

He appreciates having a wife who shares his enthusiasm for Golden Tee, noting their competitive spirits while always supporting each other—though they sometimes face off in tournaments. This year at the Florida Open, Jamie knocked Mike out of the tournament during a live broadcast, showcasing their unique rivalry.

The Golden Tee community is a big part of Mike's life; he actively engages with fellow players on Discord, sharing tips and strategies. However, this year's Carolina Clash didn't start as he had hoped—missing the main bracket cutline meant he ended up in the purple bracket.

Determined to make the best of it, Mike dominated his way through the winners bracket and faced off against top prospect Bryce Aubart in the King of the Hill match, securing a win.

After Bryce emerged from the losers final, he challenged Mike in the purple bracket grand finals. Despite losing the first grand finals match, Mike made crucial adjustments and ultimately claimed victory, earning a spot in the prestigious Golden Tee World Championship.

Outside of gaming, Mike enjoys riding his Harley, camping, and traveling with Jamie and their kids, blending family life with his love for competition.

Mike expressed his desire to land a podium finish in the main bracket and had this to say to the Golden Tee fanbase, “Win or lose we are a community.  I’ve enjoyed being a player so much that I’ve started running my own tournaments and I’m thankful to everyone who has shown up to support.  I wouldn’t be where I am without all of you and hope there’s much more to come.”
