If you’ve ever teed off in Golden Tee’s Daily Contest, you know the thrill of competing against players online in the game’s largest 24-hour contest. Every day brings a new course, ranging from the current year’s courses, classics, then we mix it up Mondays. And on Fridays, things get even wilder with Freaky Friday, where you’ll take on a mash-up course unlike anything you’ve played before.
Starting in October after the release of both commercial and home edition 2026 updates, the Daily Contest is about to feel even fresher. Golden Tee is adding a new layer of strategy and variety with adjustable difficulty settings. That means no two days will ever feel the same. With Golden Tee having control over these individual features, you will see some contests with few changes and others where we turn all the knobs.

The latest update gives more tools to keep you on your toes. Each contest can now be tuned using a mix of wind power, wind speed, and tee box sets. These three features can completely change how a course feels.
Wind Power
Players will face different styles of wind behavior depending on the day’s setup. Options include:
- Escalating – Wind builds stronger as the round goes on.
- Diminishing – Wind starts strong but weakens with each hole.
- Steady – Consistent conditions from start to finish.
- Random – Expect the unexpected, with winds changing unpredictably.
Wind Speed
In addition to power styles, contests can now be played under different wind speeds:
- No Wind – Pure shot-making with no outside influence.
- Light Wind – Gentle breezes for subtle adjustments.
- Moderate Wind – A balanced test for all skill levels.
- Gusty Wind – Conditions that can turn on a dime.
- Heavy Wind – Demands precise control and planning.
- Extreme Wind – Only the bold will thrive in these wild conditions.
Tee Box Set
The new tee box options give contests even more variety, changing how each hole plays:
- Novice – Perfect for newcomers.
- Easy – Accessible setups for casual play.
- Pro – A challenge designed for experienced players.
- Championship – The toughest setups for elite competition.
- Random – A mix of boxes keeps players guessing.
- Default – Standard tee placements for traditional play.
These new settings turn the Daily Contest into something bigger than just “another round.” One day you might be facing calm skies and friendly tee boxes. The next, you could be grinding against extreme winds and championship setups. The variety makes every contest more unpredictable and a lot more fun.
This is just one of the new features that is coming to Golden Tee PGA 2026. Check out all of the other features here.
How the Daily Contest Works
On the Daily Contest, it doesn’t have to stop at one game. Play as many games as you like on the same conditions, which will stay locked between midnight CDT and close at 11:59 p.m. CDT. Each player will have the same winds, pins and setup during this time. Only your best score will count and be displayed on the leaderboard. You can find more information about the Daily Contest here.
