Flop & Punch Shots Coming to Golden Tee 2026
New shot types for you to master!

Two classic golf shots are making their debut in Golden Tee, giving players even more control and creativity when approaching the green or navigating tricky lies: the flop shot and the punch shot.

The Flop Shot – High, Soft, and Precise

Flop Shot

In traditional golf, a flop shot is used to launch the ball high into the air with a soft landing—perfect for clearing hazards like bunkers and stopping quickly on the green.

In Golden Tee, the flop shot keeps this same spirit: expect a steep trajectory and minimal roll when it lands. It’s a game-changer for tight pin placements or when you need to get over trouble fast.

The Punch Shot – Low, Controlled, and Steady

Punch shot

The punch shot in real golf is a low-trajectory strike designed to keep the ball under obstacles or fight through strong winds.

In Golden Tee, this translates to a controlled shot with reduced launch height, perfect for threading through trees or keeping the ball stable on blustery days.

How It Works in Golden Tee

  • Not Off the Tee
    • Flop and punch shots can only be used during approach shots.  You can't use activate them from the tee box.
  • Club Restrictions
    • Available only with irons and hybrids—no drivers or woods allowed.
  • Activation
    • Simply press the Start button to toggle between flop and punch modes before taking your shot.

With these additions, Golden Tee players will have new tools to outsmart course design, attack pins from new angles, and recover from tough spots with style.

Whether you’re floating one over the sand or trying to navigate a tree in your way, the flop and punch shots add a fresh layer of strategy to every round in Golden Tee 2026!
