Golden Tee’s most storied tournament, an event at the heart and soul of the game’s longevity and competitive spirit, is now just a few weeks away.
The NIV 13, the next stop on Power Events’ whirlwind tour, is a place all trackball fans want to be.
Baja Bean in Richmond, Virginia will play host once again—a location that is as accommodating for Golden Tee players as any out there. The event will be played October 1 through October 4, which just so happens to be the week that Golden Tee 2016 will be released.
Oh, what a week it will be.
There will be a handful of meaningful events to be played, but first, let’s talk about some of the other wonderful things this weekend includes.
On Friday night there will be FREE BEER. I repeat… FREE BEER.
On Saturday, there will be a free lunch. On Sunday, they plan to cook up a pig and tournament attendees will enjoy it for, you guessed it, free. All players will also receive a special Golden Tee player card and be eligible for great door prizes. All you have to do is be there.
The actual GT tournaments will kick off on Thursday with a Closest-to-the-Pin contest. On Friday night, the handicap tournament will be played. On Saturday, the main event will begin with a five-course qualifier.
Once the qualifier is complete, the top 32 players will be placed in the main bracket. All other players will participate in the purple bracket. This double-elimination match play will begin at noon on Sunday and a champion will be crowned later that evening.
I cannot stress enough what this event has meant for Golden Tee events for more than a decade. It is a tournament unique from any other—an environment that truly celebrates the history and camaraderie that have helped make this the greatest game on the planet.
