Welcome to the Course Caddy, a look at each and every hole in Golden Tee 2014. Over the next few months, we will spend each day looking at a different design, starting with Hole 1 on the first course and ending with the final hole on the final design.
We want—no, NEED—your help in this process!
How do you play a particular design? Share your thoughts on strategy and YouTube uploads in the comment section. Your feedback is integral in the complete understanding of the design.
All holes will then be available for reference on the Course Caddy page—a bookmark must for the entire encyclopedia! Enjoy.
Pelican Grove No. 6:
On the surface, Hole 6 on Pelican Grove looks like a straightforward par-4.
Put it in the fairway, use the appropriate spin to get it close to—or preferably in—the hole, and move along with your round. This strategy works just fine, and it will play out accordingly in the majority of your round.
Find the fairway and see what happens. A birdie is likely, and there’s always the chance at something more.
That will be the desired path the majority of the time on this hole.
No wild attempts, no nonsense, just a two-shot hole that you can hopefully take advantage of. It’s worth pointing out, however, that this hole is being driven given the right conditions and tee box.
Is it worth trying for? It really can’t hurt if the conditions call for it.
It’s simple, really. The closer you get to the hole, the better chance you have to hole out. Not being able to spin the ball out of the fairway is a worry, but you’ll be able to hit the green from the sand trap or pretty much anywhere for that matter.
A lot of this depends on your comfort level, but it might be worth a try.
What works for you on this hole?
